Apart from singing at the restaurant and church as well, she sang at families reunions, holidays parties and anywhere in a 30-mile distance. Alaina won her first Southern Stars Pageant talent contest when she was just 8 years old. She was then selected to sing on the Kids Stage of Chattanooga's Riverbend Festival. This festival permitted the contest on its main stage when she was 12 after she had been performing there each year. At the age of 10 she travelled from Florida to Orlando for the purpose of competing at the American Model and Talent Competition. She defeated 1500 competitors to claim the title. Alaina was a part of the Georgia Country Gospel Music Association Children's Choir. The first time she visited Nashville was when she was of 12 years old. The singer also appeared in local bars like Tootsie's on Broadway. In 2009, Alaina won the inaugural WinniSTAR youth talent competition held at the Lake Winnepesaukah amusement park.In addition to performing, Alaina wrote several songs such as Leaving and Set Me Free. Alaina was inspired to sing by her aunt, Holly Witherow, who was diagnosed with an brain tumor. The first position she held was with CiC Pizza. She was a cheerleader at Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School in Fort Oglethorpe Georgia.
